Delivery to the UK took 12 days, which was longer than I expected. The parcel seemed to get stuck along the way, but we managed to locate it using the tracking number. Thankfully, the book has now arrived safely! I’m looking forward to reading it and hope it’s worth the wait.

Bought the digital version of the book Echoes of an Audiophile, and I must say it did not dissapoint!! The authors story is very interesting.

Beautifully made book. The printing, paper and binding all feel much more substantial than I expected. I also like that the technical parts never overwhelm the personal story. Very good :)

Echoes of an Audiophile was not quite the book I expected, and I mean that in a good way. I thought it would mainly be a collection of stories about turntables, amplifiers, cartridges and old audio equipment. Those things are certainly there, but they are really only part of a much larger story. What stayed with me most were the memories of discovering music in Soviet Lithuania and the way certain records, machines and listening moments became connected with different periods of life.
I especially liked that the book never feels like it is trying to impress the reader with technical knowledge. The audio details are there for people who understand them, but the emotional side is always more important. It reminded me of my own first records and of the systems I had many years ago, some of which I had almost forgotten.
The physical book is also beautifully produced. It feels substantial in the hand and suits the subject very well. I finished it over several evenings and found myself thinking about some of the chapters long after I had closed the book.

I have been using the step-up transformer for several weeks now. Very quiet, no hum, and it works extremely well with my low-output MC cartridge. Most importantly, it does not seem to colour the sound.

The field-coil cartridge immediately interested me because it is such an unusual approach. I have used a number of moving-coil cartridges over the years, including some quite expensive ones, but I had never experienced anything built around this particular concept.
The sound is difficult to describe with the usual audiophile vocabulary because the strongest impression is simply one of presence. Vocals have a very direct, almost physical quality, and acoustic instruments have excellent texture. On older jazz recordings in particular, there is a strong sense of energy and immediacy.
At the same time, the cartridge does not sound exaggerated. It is not artificially bright or overly detailed. Instead, it seems to bring small dynamic changes and tonal colours forward in a very natural way.
I also appreciate the experimental nature of the product. It clearly comes from someone who is willing to explore ideas outside conventional commercial design. That will not appeal to everyone, but for listeners who enjoy analogue audio as both music and experimentation, it is a very interesting product.
The communication and support were also excellent, and it was clear that the person answering my questions genuinely understood the design rather than simply repeating marketing information.

Très belle réalisation. Le transformateur est silencieux, très bien construit et apporte beaucoup de naturel à mon système analogique. Une excellente surprise.

Excellent build quality. Heavy, simple and very nicely finished. I connected it in the evening and ended up listening to records until well after midnight.

I purchased a phono preamp from Vintage Lab, although before that I knew very little about the company and had to rely mostly on my intuition. I’m very glad I did, because my intuition did not fail me.
This phono preamp sounds simply incredible with my full range speakers and single ended amplifier. The sound is wonderful, natural, musical and engaging.
I should also mention that I personally sell high-end audio components and have heard many phono preamps over the years. However, this Vintage Lab unit has surpassed everything I had heard before.
Amazing sound, excellent work, and best of luck to this company!

I am using the step-up transformer with a low-output MC cartridge. Noise is extremely low and the tonal balance remains very neutral. What impressed me most is that it adds gain without making the cartridge sound slower or heavier.

The Vintage Lab phono preamp has a very natural and relaxed sound. Voices are full-bodied, cymbals remain smooth, and the soundstage has excellent depth. After a few evenings I stopped analysing it and simply listened to records. That is probably the best compliment I can give. Wonderful!!!!!
