Echoes of an Audiophile — Standard Edition

Echoes of an Audiophile: A Life in Sound is a deeply personal memoir about music, memory, and the lifelong search for true sound.

Beginning in Soviet Lithuania, where Western music reached young ears like a distant and almost forbidden signal, E.J. Heart’s story follows the path of a boy who first discovered wonder in the crackle of a vinyl record — and carried that wonder through a lifetime of listening, building, losing, searching, and creating.

This is not a technical manual, although its pages move through vinyl records, tube amplifiers, rare turntables, field-coil loudspeakers, reel-to-reel tape machines, handmade audio equipment, and the philosophy of analogue sound. At its heart, this is a story about passion, perseverance, memory, craftsmanship, and the invisible emotional world that music can awaken.

Through childhood behind the Iron Curtain, the dawn of Lithuanian independence, personal trials, homes built around music, and decades of audio exploration, the book reflects on what it means not merely to hear, but truly to listen.

Written with warmth, honesty, and deep love for music, Echoes of an Audiophile invites the reader into a life where technology becomes memory, sound becomes a companion, and the search for a truer tone becomes the search for oneself.

For anyone who has ever lowered a stylus onto a record, waited for the first soft crackle, and felt the world become quieter, deeper, and more alive — this book is an invitation to listen again.
